Mickey Rourke vs. Sean Penn

When Mickey Rourke came back big in "The Wrestler" in 2008, everyone was happy he'd gotten his demons under control. Then he got nominated for an Oscar and started letting those demons loose on his biggest competition, Sean Penn in "Milk." According to The Daily Beast, Rourke sent this message to a Los Angeles entertainment honcho: "Look seans an old friend of mine and i didnt buy his performance at all - thought he did an average pretend acting like he was gay besides hes one of the most homophobic people i kno." [sic] Rourke's publicist did spin control by claiming, "There is no Oscar feud between Mickey and Sean. They have known each other and been friends for a very long time. Mickey attended the New York premiere of 'Milk' to support Sean and only has the greatest respect for him." Penn wisely kept mum and went on to beat Rourke to the podium, ending his acceptance speech with this gracious shout-out: "Mickey Rourke rises again. And he is my brother." Who'd have thought Penn would be the one to come out of a feud smelling like a rose?
