Is it too much to ask that we, the viewers, be entertained during the longest awards ceremony of the season? To host the Oscars is a lot of pressure, but when the promos arrived showing Anne Hathaway and James Franco performing hilarious skits, everyone got excited. But when it was show time, the pair totally bombed thanks to Franco's despondent attitude. Although Hathaway tried to keep things upbeat with her high energy and huge smile, having a dud like Franco as her partner wasn't enough to save the night.
