The nominees for Best Rock Performance included...

Coldplay, "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall"
The Decemberists, "Down By The Water
Foo Fighters, "Walk"
Mumford & Sons, "The Cave"
Radiohead, "Lotus Flower"

"We made this one in my garage with some microphones and a tape machine," Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl said in his acceptance speech. "To me this award means a lot because it shows that the human element of making music is still important.

"It's not about being perfect, it's not about sounding absolutely correct, it's not about what goes on in a computer," Grohl said, and then pointing to his head and his heart, "it's about what goes on in here and what goes on in here."
