Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama: Meryl Streep in "The Iron Lady"
And the nominees were:
Glenn Close in "Albert Nobbs"
Viola Davis in "The Help"
Rooney Mara in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
Meryl Streep in "The Iron Lady"
Tilda Swinton in "We Need to Talk About Kevin"
Although severely underdressed, Meryl Streep deserved her award for playing Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady." And she classily to recognized virtually all of her competitors. And gave a nice shout-out to "The Punisher" Harvey Weinstein, "The Iron Lady's" producer. Personally though, we think Tilda Swinton deserved an award for her Bowie-esque hair alone.
