We are not saying that Sandra Bullock is not a good actress. In fact, the Texan is a masterful comedienne, but her turn as a bull-headed mother in 2009's "The Blind Side" was not as distinguished as Meryl Streep's light-hearted portrayal of master cook Julia Child in "Julie & Julia." Bullock may very well have been the beneficiary of vote splitting, though, as the category also included acclaimed performances by Helen Mirren ("The Last Station") and newcomer Carrie Mulligan ("An Education"). As they often do, the Golden Globes got it right when they named Streep Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
