A grand total of nine films will be vying for the Oscar in the Best Picture category, and nominations for Lincoln, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Argo, Zero Dark Thirty and Django Unchained won'€™t come as a surprise. However, a few eyebrows might be raised at the inclusion of Michael Haneke'€™s bleak twilight years drama Amour, the joyous Beasts of the Southern Wild and black comedy Silver Linings Playbook in the field. Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master and the latest James Bond film Skyfall€“ which many had tipped for a nomination - are among the most notable omissions from the category.
