The promotional tour for Christopher Nolan's film ended at the 2001 Sundance festival. There it picked up a screenwriting award and was boosted up the list of must-see thrillers after indie director Steven Soderbergh expressed his liking for the film, forcing Newmarket Films to release the film themselves off the back of such praise. The film itself focuses on a man suffering from amnesia and his attempts to catch his late wife's killer.
