This was a tough category, but Tom Hiddleston took it for his mischievous turn as the demigod Loki in The Avengers. The English actor accepted his award with good humour and grace. Especially gratifying was his acknowledgement of geek god and "beautiful badass," director Joss Whedon. Hiddleston went on too long for MTV's standards but we could have listened to him forever.
