To say I was surprised when I heard that Rebel Wilson was hosting the MTV Movie Awards is an understatement. The Australian comedienne made a big impression, though, in Pitch Perfect which is up for four Golden Popcorn awards. The opening skit, which saw pilloried Oscar host James Franco give Wilson a pep talk before shooting her in an "Iron Mangina" suit over to America, was awful, but Franco was more animated than he was in Rise of the Planet of the Apes at least.

Kudos to MTV for going with someone unexpected.
