Well, he didn't win the Oscar for his performance as Pat Solitano in Silver Linings Playbook (he was nominated), but Bradley Cooper did win an MTV Award. Is that consolation? Cooper's shout-out to PTSD-suffering vets in his acceptance speech was an honourable attempt to inject a slightly serious note into a proceeding known more for its revelry than its solemnity.
