'SOTY' huge responsibility for Karan Johar
"The film is a big responsibility on Dharma Production's shoulders and mine. We are launching the career of three new faces through this film - Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra. All of them are very promising and talented. So, we as a production house have to make sure that we stand up to the expectation of all," said Karan.
Alia is filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan's daughter; Varun is director David Dhawan's son, while Siddharth is a model. Their fate will be decided when 'SOTY' hits screens October 19.
The first trailer of 'SOTY' was launched August 2 and Karan says he has "planned elaborate promotional activities" to create awareness about the film.
"We will start with the release of the first song online on August 24, followed by music launch," added the 40-year-old known for directing hits like 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' and producing successful films like 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Wake Up Sid!'.
Karan has co-produced 'SOTY' with Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.
