Tough to play a dumb girl in 'Race 2': Ameesha

Varinder Chawla
Mumbai: Ameesha Patel, who plays Anil Kapoor's assistant in 'Race 2', says it was tough for her to essay a dumb girl.
"Cherry is a dumb blonde character. It was tough for me because to do a comedy role and that too a dumb character is always tough. If you do over-the-top acting, you can irritate the audiences," the 37-year-old said here on Thursday at the special screening of the film.
"So it is important to identify that fine line, where not to overact and to stay subdued. But there were Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan whose comic timing is great and they helped me," she added.
Directed by Abbas-Mustan, 'Race 2' also stars Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and John Abraham. It hit the theatres on Friday.
