I don't want to sound like a victim: Saif

Keen to leave the 'ugly incident' behind, actor Saif Ali Khan, who recently got into a scuffle, says he's more excited about having done his first item song.

I don't want to sound like a victim: Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan is unlikely to ever forget his night out with friends including girlfriend actor Kareena Kapoor that ended in a police complaint being lodged against the star post a rather public brawl. But Saif insists that he is keen to now move on.

"We are in talks and I hope to sort it out among ourselves more constructively," says Saif, referring to settling the matter with the complainant Iqbal Sharma, who was allegedly punched by the actor. But ask him if he feels that there's more heat as he's a celebrity and he adds, "I don't want to sound like a victim. But celebrity or not, I do feel that it should have been handled differently. All I know is that, just the idea of hitting out a senior person is something I wouldn't dream of in a million years."

As for talks of it all being a publicity stunt, he is quick to clarify, "It's not a publicity stunt. Neither me nor my film need such uncalled for attention."

Striving to put the 'ugly episode' behind him, the actor meanwhile reveals that he's much excited about having done an item number, his first ever, in the forthcoming film 'Agent Vinod'. "Yes, the song's called Pyaar Ki Pungi and it's my first ever 'item song' so to say and it's not like anything I've ever done before," he shares.

Not exactly known for his dancing talent, Saif actually pulled this one off all in one night, he says. "It's got some fun moves, some impromptu tapori kind of steps that I kind of added. It's bit of an item, a bit of madness and lots of craziness." So, what was Kareena's take on it? "Well, you should ask her about it, but of what I know, she loved it."

While he's all for talking about Kareena as a 'fab co-actor' he draws the line at the mention of the 'M' word. "Well, that we are not talking about till the film releases. Till then, we just want to be addressed to in the space of co-stars."

Considering Kareena's recent films have hit the Rs 100 crore mark, does Saif feel the pressure too for his own production? "There's no pressure. I do hope that it does well, of course, but that's no benchmark."

There was buzz of him being upset with co-star Deepika Padukone, after she walked out of 'Race 2'... "What Deepika chooses to do is not my business, I'm not emotional about it. I am even working with her in 'Cocktail' and she's been a thorough professional, so I don't know where all those rumours stem from. I'm a fairly easy going guy, so no, no issues between us at all."
