New Delhi: Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy recreated the popular suicide scene from his super hit film 'Sholay' to promote his upcoming movie ' Nautanki Saala' in Mumbai recently.
Ayushmann Khurrana, who is starring as the lead in the film along with Kunal Roy Kapur, was spotted standing in front of a hoarding on the busy link road in Andheri with Kapur on the billboard.
Kapur became Veeru shouting famous dialogues of Dharamendra from the suicide scene in 'Sholay' while Khurrana portrayed Jai, the character played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original film, and was trying to convince the 33-year-old actor not to jump.
The 'Just Mohabbat' actor then came down with help of a cable wire, thereby unveiling the poster of the film.
Filmmaker Sippy recently revealed that the film, which is directed by his son Rohan Sippy, is a romantic comedy revolving around the two lead actors.
"The story of this film revolves around a drama as the lead actors of the film are stage actors. So you can't really catch when are they speaking the truth or when are they acting and when are they not acting!" So all this you will see on screen," he said.
The 28-year-old 'Vicky Donor' star said that he enjoyed working with Rohan.
"This film is releasing exactly after one year when Vicky Donor was released. It was released on 20th April 2012 and this film is releasing on 12th April 2013, so I think it has a decent gap. And the best part is I always wanted to work with Rohan sir and I love his work so it was great working with him," Ayushmann said.
The film is all set to hit the theaters on April 12.
