I get a high from acting: Vinay Pathak
The actor, who was in the city to promote his upcoming film, 'Tere Mere Phere', spoke extensively to us and that's how we got to know his lighter side.
Pathak has usually been associated with comic or unconventional genre of films. Doesn't he feel bored doing the same thing again and again?
"First of all I don't understand why everybody calls my films eccentric. These films are enjoyed by a large chunk of the audience. Even today, if I am offered 'Bheja Fry' 3 or 4, I want to be a part of it. Aur kab tak main hero ka dost banta rahoon? As an actor, I have many desires. And I am grateful that everyday when I wake up I know I can go out and work because I am loved as an actor," he says.
'Tere Mere Phere' revolves around marriage. So what does he think of marriage? "I feel, that for any marriage to work, love has to be there in the relationship or else the phere literally become like circles and it gets confusing and makes the marriage difficult to sustain," he says.
Pathak has been a VJ, a singer in 'Bheja Fry 2' and he donned the hat of a producer with 'Dasvadaniya'. So how was it to take up different roles? "As a singer I can say it was forced on me and since my character had to be that desperate singer I agreed to do it. But my sur taal had all gone for a toss. For 'Dasvadaniya', I was that poor producer who wanted to shoot in Russia but settled for Thailand as the locations were cheaper. But as a VJ I feel I connected with the youth who I feel are the most evolved in today's time," says the actor.
Talking about his future plans, Pathak says, "There are a lot of things that I want to do before I die but I want to keep doing good work and keep on entertaining the audience."
