Need more films on corruption: Anna Hazare

The man who was one of the most talked about all of last year for starting a modern day Satyagraha against corruption, now seems to be changing his stance about Ahimsa (non-violence).
On Tuesday night, 'a one-of-a-kind movie premiere' as actor Akshaye Khanna calls it, of his upcoming film 'Gali Gali Chor Hai' was held at Raleganj Siddhi, Anna's hometown, not just for the veteran activist, but also for the 2,000 villagers. Anna, who has apparently watched a film almost after 30 years seemed enthused about it as the film is based on corruption.
"Since this film is based on how a common man decides to fight corruption, but in an entertaining way, a film like this will convey the message in a much better way even in rural areas. I hope people take a cue from this film and make more films highlighting this issue and help curb corruption," said Anna post watching the film.
Talking about a scene where Akshaye slaps a bureaucrat for his wrong doings, Anna added, "When a common man runs out of patience and tolerance power, he will obviously resort to a stronger reaction. Then no matter who is in front of you, sometimes a slap is what is required. That is the only option now." This scene is quite reminiscent of the recent incident where senior politician Sharad Pawar was slapped by a common man. Anna had condemned this kind of behaviour back then.
When asked about the importance of Republic Day, Anna adds, "Republic Day is a day that we celebrate as our constitution was drafted, but since then, we completely lack in drafting or amending anything new. Also on this day if we Indians decide to eliminate supporting corruption in any form, this will be a true way to celebrate it."
