One of the most stunning faces to grace the silver screen in recent times has been that of Deepika Padukone. This native Bangalorean (daughter of Badminton great Prakash Padukone) began her career as a model and went on to do ads for Liril, Close-Up, Limca and Maybelline.
In 2007, the 21-year-old caught the eye of ace dance director-turned-film director Farah Khan who decided to cast her in her next production opposite none other than the King Khan, Shahrukh. Deepika played a double role in 'OSO' and impressed the masses as well as the critics.
The fans weren't the only ones taken in by the dazzling smile of this south Indian beauty; soon, there were reports of her hooking up with cricketers Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni. But the only sportsman Deepika wanted in her life was her father, and soon, stories of a new romance began to surface - those featuring her and the youngest Kapoor to hit the marquee - Ranbir Kapoor. In February 2008, the newest and hottest stars in Bollywood were officially a couple and even appeared in a movie together.
There have, of late, been rumours of some trouble between the pair - reasons range from Neetu Kapoor (Ranbir's mother) not being too fond of Deepika to Ranbir being a bit too fond of his co-star Katrina. Whatever the problem, we hope these bright young stars can sort it out and remain the beautiful couple that they are (were?).
