Caine’s big breakthrough finally came in 1964 though, when director Cy Enfield asked him to swap his distinctive cockney accent to play an upper-class British officer in Zulu, a historical war film based on the events of the Battle of Rorke’s Drift, fought between the British military and the Zulu people, filmed in South Africa.
