An absentee Lil Wayne defeated in-attendance nominees Justin Bieber and Chris Brown in the Male Artist of the Year category. Presenter, Pips-leader and 'Dancer With The Stars' Gladys Knight accepted the award on the New Orleans rapper's behalf.
