Wheeled out as host for the ninth time, Old Man Crystal recycled his one good joke - inserting himself into a montage of the Best Picture nominees - and sang a terrible song. 2005 host Chris Rock, on the other hand, turned presenting Best Animated Movie into an audition for next year's MC. "I hate when people go on TV and tell you how hard it is to do animations," said Rock. "No, no, no. Stripping wood is hard work. I've done animation. It's the easiest job in the world. I go in a booth and I go, 'What's the line?' And the guy goes, 'It's getting dark outside.' And I go, 'It's getting dark outside!' And then they give me a MILLION DOLLARS."
