J.J. Abrams faced a tough job ahead of his much-anticipated Star Trek reboot. As well as pleasing hardcore fans, the director was tasked with attracting a new generation into auditoriums and all whilst somehow coming up with a way to neatly reboot the Trek timeline. He somehow succeeded thanks in no small part to a movie which combined pithy in-jokes with heart-pounding action sequences performed by a cast who helped to redefine the crew of the Enterprise. All of which are on show in this superb scene, the first of several fist-pumping sequences that helped Abrams to take Star Trek where no man had gone before.
