8. J.K. Rowling revealed Dumbledore was gay

J.K Rowling caused controversy when she suddenly revealed that the Hogwarts Headmaster was gay. Rowling said 'I was in a script read-through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying I knew a girl once... I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, 'Dumbledore's gay!'

The legendary wizard once had a crush on his former friend, and arch enemy Grindelwald, whom he later defeated in a duel.
