The most horrific scandal of the year is the case of dead English radio DJ and TV personality Sir Jimmy Savile who is alleged to have raped and abused hundreds of under-aged children over four decades. By mid-December, British police had arrested and questioned seven people including rocker Gary Glitter, in connection with the case. The total number of alleged victims is 589, of whom 450 were allegedly abused by Savile. The scandal has raised questions about the culture of entitlement and impunity in the British entertainment industry that will likely linger well into 2013 after the police publish the results of their investigation.
