Director Kathryn Bigelow’s follow-up to The Hurt Locker chronicles the hunt for and assassination of Osama Bin Laden. Jessica Chastain (The Help) plays Maya, a laser-focused CIA officer, apparently based on a real person, tasked with finding the mastermind behind 9/11. Hurt Locker writer Mark Boal’s screenplay allegedly stays as faithful to the actual events of the hunt as possible without revealing the identities of the actual participants. The years-long investigation takes up the bulk of the film, with the final 40 minutes dedicated to the actual raid, including the harrowing, night-vision sequence where Bin Laden’s compound is raided and the man himself finally found.
