He was ousted for his "uncontrollable behavior" at two and a half years old. At ten, he was advised to change his name to a more American-friendly 'Lenny Williams'. The advice of course, was not taken.
A series of supporting work in television soon followed, but his talent was meant for greater things.
Leonardo DiCaprio has come a long way since then, especially after leading roles in 'Romeo+Juliet' and 'Titanic'. The young actor with striking good looks became an overnight phenomenon, spawning legions of female fans and an entire industry thriving on all things DiCaprio.
And as he continues to defy typecasts, clichés and all other conventions about actors, today, Leo works less to shed his post-Titanic choco boy-next-door tag. Instead, he advocates environmentalism, a subject he is very passionate about, even driving a hybrid-car to further his efforts.
