American band Hanson played their own instruments but they still fall into the 'boy band' category thanks to their young age, teen heartthrob looks and catchy pop anthems. The three brothers from Oklahoma burst onto the music scene in 1997 with the infectious ditty MMMBop and went on to sell over 16 million albums worldwide.
