Daniel Radcliffe has denied that's he's landed the role of Freddie Mercury in the upcoming movie biopic based on the late rock star's life.

The Harry Potter star was rumoured to have taken over the role from Sacha Baron Cohen, after he pulled out because he disagreed with the direction the movie was going in.

Queen's Roger Taylor recently opened up about Sacha's departure from the film, saying that he and Brian May were worried he would make it too funny.

In an interview with Mojo, he said: "We felt Sacha probably wasn't right. We didn't want it to be a joke. We want people to be moved."

However Daniel has since shot down reports that he is replacing Sacha.

"Everyone on the internet who I presume is saying I'm totally wrong for that part is correct," he told Empire. "I am completely wrong for that part!"

We're quite relieved by the new, as we couldn't shake the feeling that Daniel wasn't quite right for the role - can he really portray one of the most famous musicians of all time?
