Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel)

Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey)

Claire Danes (Homeland)

Robin Wright (House Of Cards)

Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men)

Connie Britton (Nashville)

Kerry Washington (Scandal)

Who should win: Kerry Washington

Who will win: Claire Danes

Why: Last year Danes won a well-deserved Emmy for the first season of Homeland. The show’s second season garnered mixed reviews at best, but that won’t stop the Emmy voters from giving Danes a back-to-back win for her cable series role.  And that’s truly unfortunate, because Scandal’s sophomore season gave Kerry Washington’s Olivia Pope such range and depth that she truly deserves some acknowledgement.
