Well you have to start somewhere and, like her spunky character Tess McGill, Bullock was only just embarking on her career climb when she landed the lead role in NBC’s 1990 sitcom, Working Girl. Based on the famous Melanie Griffith film of the same name, the show was short lived (just 12 episodes), but it was here that Bullock cut her teeth and made a blip on the Hollywood radar. The other good thing to come out of this failed mid-season replacement? Bullock realized that multi-camera television wasn’t for her and honed all her energy into film from then on.
