JJ Abrams' movie career - Regarding Henry (1991)
Role: Writer / producer
Box office: $43million
How good? The movie received a mixed reception with Abrams’ script coming under fire from some reviewers including Roger Ebert who said it had “…plot twists that belong in a sitcom.” Ouch.
After starting his silver screen career writing for James Belushi, Abrams progressed to scribbling for Harrison Ford for his sophomore outing, not bad for a fresh-faced filmmaker trying to make his way in the business. The result of his efforts was Regarding Henry, a slick urban fairy tale directed by The Graduate’s Mike Nichols.
