The FBI, CIA and Los Angeles Police Department were investigating how a group of hackers allegedly accessed and made public credit reports, social security numbers and other sensitive financial information for several high-profile American politicians and celebrities, including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama and Mitt Romney. The Associated Press reported that investigators determined that, in some cases, the perpetrators were able to log-in on a website that gives consumers access to their credit reports using personal identifying information, such as mother’s maiden name. The hackers later removed the website.
