But while Fassbender tends to look mighty fine in old clothing, his most famous role came after shedding the shackles of public decency. Of course we’re talking about his Golden Globe nominated turn in Shame, where a certain scene garnered him a new kind of respect for, ahem, what he had to offer. Confident in his decision to drop trou – why wouldn’t he be? – Fassbender later dedicated the artful indecency to his mom: "I think it's the idea of male frontal nudity. It just baffles me: Women can parade around naked all the time, but the guy conveniently has his pants on,” he told Vulture. “I remember my mom always complaining about that to me, saying, ‘This is such bullshit, it's always the women who are naked’… so I did this one for you, Mom!”
