Well-tanned Aerosmith members Steven Tyler and Joe Perry introduced Johnny Depp's win for the MTV Generation Award. Too bad they can't read their cue cards. (It's Ed Wood, Steven, not Ed Woods.) The accompanying montage of Depp's movies reinforced the point that the chameleonic actor has really done it all, from the biggest movies ('Alice in Wonderland', the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films) to indie efforts ('The Ninth Gate', 'Crybaby'). As for Depp's performance with The Black Keys on their new single 'Gold on the Ceiling,' well, we have to admit it was pretty exciting seeing Captain Jack Sparrow himself on rhythm guitar opposite frontman Pat Carney, even if he never looked at the audience once. The audience obviously loved Depp, and his speech was short and self-deprecating.
