Beauty and brains: the smartest female celebrities
Sophie Dahl

As the granddaughter of children's scribe Roald Dahl you'd think that Sophie would do everything in her ability to sidestep the literary world. Instead, she has thrown herself into wholeheartedly, becoming an award-winning writer for both American and British Vogue, the Sunday Times, the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph.
She is also the author of three books: The Man With the Dancing Eyes (2003), Playing with the Grown-Ups (2008) and a cookery book, Miss Dahl's Voluptuous Delights (2009). Which, let's face it, is more than enough to suggest that Roald's wordsmith genes have well and truly been passed on.
