She's just 'One of the Boys'

'I Kissed a Girl' may have netted Perry her first multi-platinum single, but her record label (Capitol Music Group) were still struggling to find a marketable image for the once gospel-gabbing songstress. Hoping to give her a sexier, harder edge, in June 2008 a publicity photo emerged of Perry posing with a switchblade. The stunt wasn't well received and, as a 'fork you' to critics, Perry later posed with a spoon. That same month, Perry's debut album under Capitol was released, One Of The Boys, shortly followed by her second single, Hot n Cold.
