Multi Grammy-award winning chanteuse Adele may be the biggest selling female recording artist in the world, but she has humble origins in London. She was born in the unglamorous area of Tottenham in the north of the British capital, and spent much of her childhood being brought up by her single mum, who had her when she was just 18 years old. Adele then moved with her mother and new stepfather to Brixton in the south of the city, and then onto neighbouring Norwood when she was 11.
