'Brokeback Mountain' (2005)

Hathaway's segue into decidedly more adult fare than her previous work began in earnest in 2005 with the releases of the indie film 'Havoc', which included her first nude scene, and 'Brokeback Mountain'. The latter film sees her cast as Lureen Newsome, a rodeo star who seduces and marries cowboy Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal). But Jack has a secret: he has for years been in love with Ennis (the late Heath Ledger). Hathaway has remarked in interviews that the most difficult part of the role was acting as a seductress, something at which the admittedly clumsy actress is not a natural.
