During the 1980s (and following plenty of claims of excessive womanizing) Schwarzenegger found love and married Maria Shriver, a member of America's famous Kennedy family, on 26 April, 1986. She not only gave Arnie access to the political elite, but was able to support him in all aspects of his life.

The couple have four children together, but the marriage ended scandalously in 2011.
