Back when Macaulay Culkin was still the most-loved child star on the planet, the sight of his character, Thomas J, lying dead in a coffin was always going to be harrowing for kids and grown-ups alike. Add to that Thomas J's 11-year-old best friend Vada sobbing over his casket during his funeral, saying "Wanna go tree climbing, Thomas J.? His face hurts. And where is his glasses? He can't see without his glasses. Put his glasses on! Put on his glasses! He was gonna be an acrobat...!", then you well and truly have one of the saddest moments in the history of children's cinema.
