There are plenty of downright sad moments in the Harry Potter series - the deaths of Dobby the house-elf and Sirius Black to name but two. However, the demise of Hogwarts head and Harry's mentor Albus Dumbledore, who is killed by Severus Snape and plummets to his end from the wizarding school's astronomy tower, goes down as the most upsetting in MSN's book.
