This Israeli war film - set during the 1982 war with Lebanon and set entirely within an Israeli tank, based on director Samuel Maoz's own experiences - was both controversial in Israel due to its anti-war stance, and because of criticism the rival Toronto Film Festival was receiving from pro-Palestinian activists for holding a celebration of Israeli films.
