When Connery quit the Bond series in 1967, Australian star George Lazenby was cast as his replacement for 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Lazenby only lasted one film before Connery was persuaded to return, and Lazenby's singular effort is usually regarded as a cult favourite as opposed to an outright classic by Bond fans.
