Nominees: Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, Florence + The Machine, Jack White, Lana Del Rey

Foghorn Florence is the name that immediately jumps out from the nominees list, however her 'Ceremonials' album hasn't quite helped her scale the same heights as her 2009 debut 'Lungs'. The Arctic Monkeys and The Black Keys are both fine bands indeed, but their fans are perhaps a little too leftfield-leaning to vote at the EMAs, while Jack White really doesn't have as much appeal without Meg by his side. That leaves Lana Del Rey who, for all her faults, is perhaps the only one of the five currently at her artistic and commerical peak. Plus, she's likely to have a big enough fanbase among the MTV audience to scrape a win in this category.
