Another film, another genre from Scott – this time a historical blockbuster about explorer  Christopher Columbus (Gerard Depardieu). Huge measures were taken to maintain historical accuracy and credibility with Scott even commissioning two full-sized recreations of Colombus’ ships – the Santa Maria and the Pinta.
