4. 'Gangs of Wasseypur'

Directed by ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, 'Gangs of Wasseypur' is a gritty gangster drama. This two part no-holds barred tale, inspired by real life incidents, was elevated by the performance of an able cast, which included breakthrough artiste of the year Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Richa Chadda, among others. While the sequel was a tad bit stretched and all too familiar, one cannot but laud Mr. Kashyap for keeping it real.
