Steven Spielberg is in the running for Best Director for his presidential drama Lincoln, alongside Ben Affleck for his hostage thriller Argo and Quentin Tarantino for his much-acclaimed Django Unchained. The final nominations went to Ang Lee for his adaptation of the best-selling book The Life of Pi and Katherine Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty, a film about the decade-long hunt for Osama bin Laden.
