Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter has written Martin Scorsese’s upcoming adaptation of Jordan Belfort’s best-selling non-fiction book The Wolf of Wall Street. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Belfort, a disgraced New York stockbroker who ran a financial boiler room in the ‘90s and was convicted of stock market manipulation. He eventually served 22 months in jail after cooperating with the FBI. The film will apparently document Belfort’s high-flying party lifestyle and turbulent personal life, as well as his professional crash and burn. Among DiCaprio’s castmates are Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill and Oscar winner Jean Dujardin (The Artist) in his first English-language role.
