Written by actor Wentworth Miller (TV’s Prison Break), Korean director Chan Wook-park’s English-language debut attracted a top-notch cast including Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode (Watchmen) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland). Wasikowska plays India Stoker, a young woman in a combative relationship with her mother Evie (Kidman) after the mysterious death of her father. Evie soon takes up with her dead husband’s brother, but Uncle Charlie (Goode) seems to have eyes only for India, an interest which is returned. Partly inspired by Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt, Miller’s screenplay made the 2010 Black List of unproduced screenplays.
