Ghost Story (1981)

Four Hollywood veterans not normally associated with horror anchor the movie version of Peter Straub’s 1979 novel Ghost Story. Fred Astaire, Melvyn Douglas, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and John Houseman star as old friends united by a secret: when they were young men, they accidentally murdered a flirtatious young woman named Eva (Alice Krige). Decades have passed since the incident, but the death of one of their sons at the hands of a woman who looked just like Eva makes the men think that she has returned from the grave seeking vengeance. And, indeed, she has.
