Does he really time travel? Why can't we see the machine? Is he insane? Is this the only movie in which Bruce Willis has ever really died? No of course not because there was that Sixth Sense twist. Ah fiddlesticks, we just gave it away. The unfolding drama of Twelve Monkeys left us with so many questions as it explored the fate of a future world devastated by disease. Indeed, the only reliable information it wielded is that, contrary to what other future Bruce Willis tells us in Looper, time travel is a self-contained loop that cannot be changed. But again, does Willis ever time travel?
